Francoa sonchifolia purple form
Hosta ventricosa BWJ8160
Fatsia polycarpa BSWJ7144
Lonicera japonica BSWJ4423
Sanguisorba hakusanensis BSWJ8709
Planting continues unabated due to certain areas being watered on a regular basis every night between 10 p.m. and midnight. A timer has been put to allow this to happen. This is really unsustainable - what is my excuse - too many plants bought from Crug and there is a selection of some of the best above. The Hosta ventricosa is a wonderful form and has excellent quality flowers. It also seems relatively slug resistant - well worth growing. Fatsia polycarpa is another of Bleddyn and Sues worthwhile introductions, an impressive architectural plant and far more sophisticated than the typical Fatsia japonica. Lonicera japonica is sweetly scented but rather rampant. Sanguisorba hakusanensis is one of those classic japanese plants. Drought has characterised this month, hot most days and if plants are not established they soon become stressed.
