July 2004

The weather seems so unpredictable and variable. Is this the future? Over the past couple of nights the night temperatures were really low, down to 7°C. At the beginning of the month at least we had some rain, but not enough to make the spring lines flow again. High winds (enough to cause Toonia to snap) also seem to be a feature. Still everything except the Magnolia 'Star Wars' seems to be growing well, perhaps too lush and rank. This is where hard decisions have to be made - remove a branch, cut a plant back - difficult!
