The Hamamelis has now started flowering and on calmer days the whole of the back garden is filled with its wonderful scent. This tree is now about 18 years old originally planted in the Lake District near Newby Bridge. The Grevillea buds are just unfurling. The Mahonia continues to bloom together with Viburnum Bodnantense. Snowdrops are just beginning to show (12/12/03). Camellia sasanqua also produces its wonderful white flowers during mild spells as does Prunus subhirtella 'Autumnalis Rosea'.
