April 2003

Peculiar weather as we had a spell of seven weeks of rain free fine but cold wind from the North. The soil became very dry and was impossible to plant anything out without constant watering. The newly planted daffodil varieties were spectacular - it will be interesting how well they do next year. We escaped late frosts so we suffered none of the usual frost damage on the Rhododendrons and Camellias.
